First off the Lifetime Warranty on this is still active. Lowe's bought the rights to Craftsman and will honor replacements of the lifetime warranty tools with the numbers starting in "9" which includes V series hand tools. So that is a huge plus. That said I bet it never breaks, these old V series are tanks, hence the reason they are so sought after and in such great shape.
