This is described as a Mercedes 170 "wheel brace with folding pawl and brace" in one publication and is listed in the publication shown as being for Mercedes 300 "lug nut and jack". My conclusion is that this was used in early 1950s Mercedes cars such as the 170, maybe the 220a and 220b and the 300 but NOT the 300sl. Not sure if this is right for the early 300d Adenauers.
