This is an older socket there is mushrooming around the base of socket see photos The 3/4 square has a chip and you have to push and pull hard to connect or disconnect socket I would connect 3/4 to 1/2inch adaptor to socket and leave it in and just used it on 1/2 inch drive .If interested I am selling adaptor , let me know or check out my page and you can purchase separately...
