The tool is designed to remove the coil wedges on a Slick magneto. The tool is attached to the two housing screw holes. The two 1/4-20 bolts engage the lip of the wedge. As you turn the nut for each bolt it lifts the wedge. This action is much less likely to break the wedge. The tool can also be used to remove a broken wedge.
