This flywheel stop is used to remove the harmonic balancer bolt, and the balancer, of GM engines. The later GM engines have the bolt torqued to 140-foot pounds, so you cannot remove it without being able to stop the engine from turning. This tool mounts where the starter mounts, the teeth on the tool fix the flex plate and provide a positive motor stop....
