Removing the flange can provide additional access, but isn't necessary."Beta" because the design has been modified from the prototype which was tested successfully. The O.D. was increased and the clearance to the output shaft was increased.The prototype successfully drove the seal to 5mm. The repair manual spec is 5-6. This should drive it to 5.5.
