Mazda Rotary Engine Pilot Bearing Remover The Rotary engine needle bearing pilot bearing can be a REAL pain to remove. It really should be changed at every clutch change. We have seen eccentric shafts destroyed when trying to remove the bearing (obviously without the tool). That is REALLY bad when the engine is still assembled. Yes, there are cheaper remover tools out there - most do not work at all. The main problem with them is the needle bearing is caged, and the outer "cage" (which is thin) ...
