Vehicle Details This diesel has not been Modified by VW, meaning it still has the cheating software that shuts down the emission controls and allows it to get outstanding fuel mileage. I drove to Nashville and back to St. Louis ( a 4 hour trip each way ) and still had a quarter of tank of fuel remaining. I calculated that I was getting 55 miles per gallon.
